Booking Confirmation

To guarantee reservation of a tour or safari, clients will have to transfer 50% of the costs directly to our accounts more than 21 days before the safari. Without the payment reservation will not be guaranteed.

When to Make Bookings

Bookings should be made as early as possible to ensure the availability of accommodation and guides. This is especially necessary during peak times (July-August, Christmas) and for those who want private safaris and tailored itineraries.

Cancellation

Cancellations that take place 2 months (60 days) before the safari can get refund of 70%.

Clients that cancel a month before their safari will get a refund of 50%.

Clients that cancel 1 – 21 days before their safari will not get refunded.

Transportation

Depending on the weather conditions the company can use a Land Rover, Land Cruiser or Minibus to transport passengers. If passengers prefer a specific vehicle over others, they should inform the company in advance.

Nakuja Expeditions has the right to hire subcontractors when needed.

Price Lists

All pricing quotations include:

  • Cost of lodge and hotel accommodations
  • Meals
  • Park fees
  • The fees of the drivers and tour guides

Quotes do not consist of the cost of alcohol or hotels not listed with our company.

Credit Cards as mode of Payment

Payments can only be made via bank transfers or cash. We do receive credit card payments. 50% of the payment needs to be made before the safari and the remaining balance should be paid 3 weeks (21 days) before the arrival.

Failure to pay the remaining balance in time will result in a cancellation.

Money

Acceptable foreign currencies include US Dollars and Euros. Traveler’s checks are not accepted.

ATMs are available in major banks and in the big cities. Clients are expected to carry loose cash for their ease.

Mountain climbing

Rates for mountain climbing include:

  • Entry fees
  • Fees for huts, camps and supplies—table and chairs, foam mattress, tents, mess tent, bathroom facilities, rescue fees, porters, tour guides and cooks
  • Meals, transport to and from mountain gate
  • Oxygen Supplies

Insurance and Responsibility

Check to see whether your travel insurance is applicable in Africa (not all are).

Nakuja Expeditions only serve as agents of the client; it’s not responsible for the damage/loss of property and any injuries clients sustain on the trip. Travelers are advised to have baggage insurance.

Alteration to Tours

In certain circumstances, Nakuja Expeditions reserves the right to modify or cancel safaris/tours. It also has the right to bar an individual(s) from joining a tour at anytime. In such cases, the client will receive a refund.

Liability

Nakuja Expeditions, its staff and subcontractors only serve as agents for transport, tours, etc. They are not liable for any losses, damages or injuries clients sustain during the trip.

For criminal offences, the laws of the country will apply.

Accommodation

Generally, all rooms/tents will be shared by two people. When it’s possible, private rooms and bathrooms can be requested. Private rooms are subject to availability at additional costs.

Clients seeking accommodation at hotels should avoid making changes to their books to guarantee reservation.

Camping Safaris

Nakuja Expeditions offers camping safaris as well as lodges.

Camping safaris include:

  • Camping gear
  • Cook
  • Guides
  • Meals
  • Transport w/ driver

Each 4×4 vehicle can only carry 5 to 7 people at a time. Clients are advised to sit at the window for easy-viewing of the outdoors.
